Scope of Works
Construction of:
- 600mm and 1 050mm diameter HDPE lined concrete pipes at depths up to 7.5m deep with shoring and de-watering of trenches,
- reinforced concrete manholes,
- 1050mm and 2 000mm dia concrete sleeve pipes by means of pipe jacking,
- 1 000mm diameter GRP pipes through 2 000mm diameter concrete sleeve pipe including grouting up after installation,
- pipe siphon under Berg River complete with associated reinforced concrete structures.

- Construction of a steel helicopter landing pad in the mountain
- Construction of a reinforced concrete weir at the abstraction point high up in the mountain
- Construction of reinforced concrete plinths for the housing of the pipeline in the mountain
- Installation of rock anchor points for the pipeline
- Excavation and laying of oPVC pipeline
- Installation of HDPE, Ductile Iron and Steel pipelines
- Construction of a steel pedestrian and pipe bridge across a gorge, in an inaccessible area of the mountain
- Construction of a steel pipe and pedestrian bridge across the stream at the foot of the mountain
- Construction of two reinforced concrete water retaining hydro power stations
- Grouting in of mechanical equipment
- Construction of access roads and associated services
A large potion of the scope of work entailed construction in inaccessible mountain areas where a helicopter was used to place materials.
Exeo received recognition for their contribution to the L’Ormarins Hydro Power Project which won the prestigious CESA AON Engineering Excellence Award.
